Scenes from Scripture, framed

# The Word on your wall, not just words

The Framed Word makes biblical scene art: moments from Scripture, the crossing, the den, the empty tomb, printed at 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17 inches and framed, in Hamilton, Ontario. Pieces are made for both men's and women's spaces, and each is named for the passage it comes from. The first collection is being framed now; nothing is for sale on this site yet.

## What will hang here?

Scenes, not slogans. Most Christian wall art is verse typography; these are pictures of the moments themselves. The frames below are hung and waiting, at the true proportions of the two print sizes.

Two sizes, one standard

## What sizes do the prints come in?

Every piece is printed at one of two sizes and arrives framed. Both are standard North American frame sizes, so a piece can be re-matted or re-framed later without custom work.

| Size | Reads best from | Where it belongs |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 8.5 × 11 in | Arm's length to a few feet | A desk wall, a hallway pair, a bookshelf lean, beside a mirror |
| 11 × 17 in | Across a room | Over a desk or dresser, an office wall, the anchor of a grouping |

Before you hang anything

## Two questions worth settling first

Both written to stand on their own, whether or not you ever buy a piece here.

[### Is it wrong to hang images of Bible scenes?

The second commandment read in its own context, the images God commanded for the tabernacle, and the bronze serpent, both the making of it and the breaking of it. Every reference links to the passage.

[### Why is there no Christian art for men's spaces?

Walk any Christian gift aisle and almost everything is florals and script. Which scenes carry weight in an office, a shop or a garage, and how to size them.

## Common questions

### Can I buy anything yet?

Not yet, and this site will not pretend otherwise. The first collection is being framed now. When it opens, every frame on the [collection wall](https://theframedword.com/collection/) will hold its piece, with its passage and its price on the placard.

### What exactly is a "biblical scene", as opposed to verse art?

Verse art prints the words: a passage set in lettering. Scene art pictures the moment the words describe: the sea standing in walls, four men on a roof lowering a fifth, a lamp on a stand. Both hang on Christian walls; this shop makes the second kind. The distinction, and why it matters, is worked through in [the guide on images](https://theframedword.com/biblical-art-and-the-second-commandment/).

### Is this art for men or for women?

Both, deliberately. The collection is a mix: some pieces are made for the rooms women usually keep, some for the office, shop and garage walls that almost no Christian art is made for. That gap is real enough that it has [its own page](https://theframedword.com/christian-wall-art-for-men/).

### Where is this made?

Hamilton, Ontario. The Framed Word is a Blue Crane Works property and a sibling of the [Sons of Scripture](https://sonsofscripture.com/) men's ministry, which gathers weekly in Hamilton and Grimsby.

### How will I know when the collection opens?

This page will say so, plainly, and the frames on the collection wall will fill. If you follow the [Sons of Scripture](https://sonsofscripture.com/) ministry, word will reach you there as well.
